The council is committed to renewing and improving the equipment for the operation of the Local Police force
The mayor of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, Concepción Narváez, the Police councilor, Samuel Henríquez, the Parque Móvil councilor, Orlando Cabrera, the Chief Commissioner of the Local Police, Isidro Armas and various agents presented this morning, the new provision of vehicles for the local police force of San Bartolomé de Tirajana.
According to Narváez, “with the financing of the Cabildo together with the Commonwealth of Municipalities of Medianías de Gran Canarias we have managed to provide four patrols for our Local Police. The investment in troops and equipment that has an impact on citizen security is essential, hence the council is making every possible effort so that the city's security forces have all the resources for the necessary work that they so professionally do. "They do it for our safety."
Furthermore, Narváez highlighted that the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council continues to focus on reducing CO2 emissions into the atmosphere, providing the best work tools to agents and trying to be more efficient for the residents and visitors of the municipality. “The municipal government will continue on the path of reinforcing the necessary equipment without forgetting the environment for the operation of our body of Local Police officers,” Narváez highlighted.
These are four Toyota brand vehicles (Corolla Hybrid model) and rechargeable cars, equipped with a 1.798-cylinder gasoline engine, automatic transmission and with the possibility of traveling an average of 50km in electric-only mode. For this reason, they carry the ECO label of the General Directorate of Traffic.
The four patrol cars received today are equipped with emergency lights and sirens, painting and silk-screen printing in accordance with regional standards, flashlights, a first aid kit and pre-installation of communications equipment, equipped with approval and adapted to police use.
The first advantage of these vehicles is fuel savings due to the electric motor that releases the load from the combustion block, is in charge of the starting system and provides greater force in acceleration. Thus, it works as an auxiliary engine, requiring less effort from the combustion engine and, therefore, less fuel. All of this results in greater respect for the environment by emitting fewer polluting gases, minimizing the environmental impact and the greenhouse effect. Another characteristic of these new vehicles received by the Local Police of San Bartolomé de Tirajana is the absence of noise pollution characteristic of hybrid models that do not emit noise during operation.
Finally, the four vehicles will provide the greatest autonomy and fastest response to police officers by traveling many more kilometers without refueling or charging the battery than traditional or electric vehicles due to the more efficient electric drives in this type of vehicle. Models.
