The CEO and president of Valsons Europe and partner in the islands of NH Hotels, Anil Partap, has joined the advisory committee of the UN Tourism Conference on Rethinking Africa this January in favor of the promotion of investments and partnerships that contributed expert perspectives to global challenges, highlighting the need for investments towards a greener tourism sector and access to financing within the sector and the need to further strengthen public-private collaboration at all levels. Partap, partner of developers in Las Palmas that are part of the Socimi Orion for investment in housing sustainability, has obtained the support of 36 international African entities for its entry into this center of consultative power.
This conference includes business leaders from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ghana, Kenya, Zambia, Ivory Coast, Mauritius and Seychelles, the Commissioner for Economic Development, Trade, Tourism, Industry and Minerals of the African Union and the Center for Resilience and Sustainable Development of the University of Cambridge, Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) and African Development Bank and the West African Monetary and Economic Union.
This platform aims to promote sustainable and resilient tourism ecosystems through multi-sector partnerships, ethical practices, investment promotion, nature-based solutions, decarbonization, public health coordination, policy alignment and data-driven decisions making. The World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) at Fitur 2024 has launched a brand change and is now called 'UN Tourism', with the aim of "reaffirming its status as a world leader in tourism for development" and a specialized agency of the United Nations.
