Friends of classic and old motorcycles have a meeting this weekend in the town of Santa Lucía de Tirajana, in the celebration of the XXIX Viejas Glorias Canarias 2021, which will be held this Saturday, November 13 and Sunday, November 14. About sixty people have already registered to participate with their motorcycles. The proceeds raised from the registration fee and the sale of t-shirts will go to a family affected by the volcano on the island of La Palma. It is expected that up to a hundred old and classic motorcycles will be exhibited at the fair, and that between Saturday and Sunday hundreds of motorcycles will be brought to Santa Lucía helmet.

At 10 am tomorrow the stop and exhibitions of the participants of the Viejas Glorias rally are scheduled. Also in the morning there will be a walk of the jewels, the 'VII Bike show' contest, a reception for bikers from Gran Canaria and at 13:XNUMX p.m. the end of the Viejas Glorias Trial, and later the presentation of trophies.
During the presentation of this new edition, the mayor of Santa Lucía de Tirajana, Francisco García, recalled that “10 years ago I had the opportunity to meet Felipe Santana and work hand in hand, so that this event was held in Santa Lucía helmet, and I have to say that there were two things that impressed me, on the one hand the dedication of the organizers and also the participation of the people, because Viejas Glorias was a great attraction and many came to see the event and enjoyed the landscape and of the gastronomy of the area.” The first mayor also highlighted that "It says a lot that in this event they want to honor the fallen bikers and I also think this year's motto is significant: 'we carry the Old Glories in our soul, this year for La Palma', because the truth is that "Our brothers from La Palma are experiencing a situation that no one imagined, and the lava has covered their life possibilities and the savings they had in that area." The mayor thanked the organizers “for choosing Santa Lucía helmet again, I hope that the participants enjoy the test and that the visitors enjoy the event and the Tirajanas basin.”
The councilor of the upper area, Sergio Vega, stated that “we are pleased to present this event for several reasons, because it is an act that shows that we are entering this normality after the covid, although we still live with it, but events are already taking place. social and sporting events like this, and also for the impact and repercussion that our upper area will have, not only the economic impact of our visitors, but also the media impact of our environment with all the beautiful things we have up in Santa Lucía , gastronomy, places and cultural and historical sites to visit.”
The president of Moto Club Las Palmas Roque Nublo, Felipe Santana, spoke on behalf of the organizers, noting that “many clubs on the island have confirmed their visit; between Saturday and Sunday, different groups of 40 will take helmets to Santa Lucía. 50 or 100 motorcycles.” Santana added that "those who go up this weekend will meet a series of clubs and friends, some will participate in the rally and others will exhibit their motorcycles and share their passion for motorcycles." Felipe Santana thanked the Santa Lucía de Tirajana City Council for its support and noted that “all proceeds will go directly to a family affected by the La Palma volcano.”
