Collectives and groups will parade before the patron saint to pay tribute to her, giving way later to the Taifa Dance of Choirs and Dances, while Paco Guedes will close the evening
One of the most notable events of the patron saint festivities of Ingenio, the Pilgrimage-Ofrenda in honor of Our Lady of Candelaria, will take place this Saturday, January 27, uniting tradition, music, faith and solidarity.
After the concentration at C/ Sebastiana Espino Sánchez, the carts will depart around 18:00 p.m., traveling through Doctor David Ramírez, Juan XXIII and Plaza de la Candelaria streets. From the Department of Celebrations of the City Council of Ingenio, organizer of the event, attendees are requested to come with traditional clothing to make the event more attractive and residents of the area are encouraged to decorate their homes with flags and rags. , enhancing the festive atmosphere. On the other hand, participating groups are requested that the offering be composed, to the extent possible, of non-perishable food, which will be destined to Cáritas Interparroquial de Ingenio.
The procession will be opened by the Ingenio City Council cart that will be accompanied musically by the AC Coros y Danzas de Ingenio. The Medianías de Ingenio Hunting Club will follow with the music and dances of the AFC Guayadeque. The ACB Amigos del Carrizal 7 Islas cart will be enlivened by the Parranda Amigos Isleños of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, while the San Gabriel de la Jurada Neighborhood Association will attend alongside the Parranda El Oronado in Ingenio. Next, the El Olivar Neighborhood Association (from El Lirón, Carrión, Cercado de Matos and Mondragón) will arrive accompanied by Besay Ojeda, Diego Rodríguez and friends. The INCAE Business Association, together with the Parranda Paingenio; The Alto Arena Neighborhood Association (from Lomo Algodones) together with the AF Tacoremi and the Villa de Ingenio Caladoras Association with the Santa Lucía Dance Corps, will be the next to parade before the patron saint, to close with the Chaxiraxi Neighborhood Association and the Parranda San Rafael.
As is tradition, at the end of the Pilgrimage, the AC Coros y Danzas de Ingenio will bring us their XXVII Taifa Dance. Under the La Candelaria tent you can dance to the rhythm of the music of the Parranda PaIngenio, the AF San Gabriel and the Parranda Merita la Pena, while the organizing association will once again highlight values of the ethnography and folklore of the islands with music, games and gastronomy.
This festive evening will close with the music of Paco Guedes once the Taifa Dance concludes.
