The Gran Canaria Half Marathon Alcalde Camilo Sánchez has received its champions in a day of outdoor sports and the best atmosphere in Vecindario, Santa Lucía de Tirajana. A classic of athletics, Rubén Palomeque Barrera was the first to cross the finish line with a brilliant time of 1 hour 8 minutes and 48 seconds (1h8'48”) and with the warm applause of the thousands of participants who accompanied him with encouragement in the last meters of the route. She was accompanied on the podium by her female counterpart, the Norwegian champion Live Solheimdal, who stopped the clock with a time of 1 hour 14 minutes 26 seconds (1h14'26”).
The half marathon has been the highlight of a day of more than 12 hours of fun, music and sport, which vibrated with the arrival of the male leader Rubén Palomeque, who was followed at the finish line by Anders Johnny Kjarevik (1h14'02”) as second classified, and Aythami Navarro Pérez (1h14'31”) to close the podium of the star distance of the test.
The girls did not wait to put the cherry on top of a day of reunion and sporting excitement in Santa Lucía de Tirajana.
