The German investor who owns Loro Parque, Wolfgang Kiessling, promoter without private land of Siam Park in El Veril, southern Gran Canaria, a project that he intended to carry out with State Aid, has spoken in the Las Palmas press about the defense he has done by the City Council of San Bartolomé de Tirajana and leaves the municipal authorities in a bad light because he assures that they continue to ask him to do the work. The German leader who owns Loro Parque has assured that "you cannot come here today and say: "you have to pay this and such."
In June 2023, the Loro Park Group has invested in these years, since it acquired the El Veril land, some 30 million euros, which in the words of Wolfgang Kiessling has been "for nothing", in the twelve and a half years that they have been trying to move the park forward, a project that “will be difficult and complicated and will not be safe if there are no agreements.”
Kiessling, in an interview with Tourinews, pointed out that the deputy mayor of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, Alejandro Marichal, with the Councilor for Tourism, Yilenia Vega, told him in the last edition of Fitur 2024 in Madrid that "they want us to return to the project" and that "we have been talking about how we can make the park go forward. However, "they have really cut our appetite. There are other means of making a living besides Gran Canaria."
The German businessman who owns Loro Parque has assured that "you cannot come here today and say: "you have to pay this and such." No, they must be truly appetizing offers" and he assured about the rejection of the project in the south of Gran Canaria that "I think this is a matter between politicians and I don't want to say anything about it, but we are definitely the victims in this matter."
