The Plenary Session of San Bartolomé de Tirajana agrees to extend the Strategic Subsidy Plan for the Housing area, which includes another €200.000 for rehabilitation aid, and approves the Strategic Subsidy Plan for Social Services for 2024, endowed with almost €666.500
The Corporation of San Bartolomé de Tirajana unanimously approved this Thursday to extend the Strategic Municipal Subsidy Plan for the Housing area and to incorporate into it, for the first time, a specific line of rental aid endowed with one million euros.
These rental aid will be allocated to working people or families, and for its granting the City Council will establish bases that will specify which people can receive them. In this regard, the first deputy mayor, Alejandro Marichal, clarified that “the aid from the Department of Housing is different from what Social Services offers to vulnerable people. These will be allocated exclusively to people or families who are working but find it difficult to pay their rent because the average rent in the municipality is between 700 and 800 euros, and the average salaries are about 1.300 euros,” he said.
Marichal also informed the plenary session that, given the lack of sufficient personnel in the Housing area, currently staffed with only one technical and two administrative personnel, the City Council has decided that the Chamber of Commerce should collaborate in the processing of this aid. to rent.
The Strategic Subsidy Plan for the Housing area will also have another budget item of 2024 euros for this 200.000 budget year for aid for the rehabilitation, repair and painting of facades of residential buildings.
Servicios Sociales
The plenary session also unanimously supported the entire Corporation for the subsidy lines of the Strategic Plan for Social Services for 2024, which has been endowed with approximately 666.500 euros. Of these, 636.500 euros will be allocated to social emergency aid and the remaining 30.000 euros to subsidies for the treatment of situations of need derived from old age and disability.
The Councilor for Social Services, Dimas Sarmiento, explained that the objective of both aid is aimed at improving the quality of life and equal opportunities for the population sectors of the municipality with greatest economic difficulties.
In this plenary session, the General Budget of the City Council for the year 2024 was also definitively ratified, which was initially approved on December 28 and whose amount is estimated at 98,5 million euros.
