Hiker injured after falling in an area of ​​difficult access in the Barranco de Las Vacas

This afternoon, the Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Government of the Canary Islands received an alert indicating that a hiker had suffered a fall in an area that was difficult to access and required medical assistance in the Barranco de Las Vacas, municipality of Agüimes.

 

A 49-year-old woman, who at the initial moment of care presented with moderate head trauma, was transferred in a sanitized ambulance from the SUC to the Insular University Hospital of Gran Canaria.

 

Firefighters from the Gran Canaria Emergency Consortium rescued the victim and SUC personnel took care of her and transferred her to the hospital.

 

1-1-2 immediately activated the necessary emergency resources and the Local Police collaborated with the intervening services.
