The Mogán Citizenship School will have a catalog of more than 70 training actions

The Department of Citizen Participation has carried out a survey of all groups in the municipality in order to find out what information actions they are interested in accessing.

The Mogán City Council, through the Department of Citizen Participation, has recently carried out an opinion poll among all the citizen entities of the municipality on courses, workshops, conferences, seminars and colloquium talks to be given in the future Citizenship School of Mogan. The purpose is to create a wide range of skills aimed at strengthening the backbone of the association movement in the region, supporting its regeneration and modernization. In this way, citizens will be able to acquire knowledge and useful tools that will allow them to move towards a more open participation model, the ultimate objective set by the local government team. 

 

The councilor for Citizen Participation, Consuelo Díaz, continues to supervise the development of the project, putting maximum interest so that the Citizenship School can become in a few years a reference and essential tool for the Mogán associative movement. 

 

The contents that the technical team in charge has been working on cover personal, group and socio-community competencies. It is intended that the training received by the groups and the future students of the School is comprehensive and serves to respond to the needs, challenges and challenges that they currently have in order to be able to join a useful participation in the governance of the destination together with the institutions. . 

 

Thus, the training catalog of the School of Citizenship will include courses and workshops such as 'Request and justification for subsidies', 'Constitution and basic management of an association', 'Electronic administration: procedures, services and certificates online' or 'How to design a social project', among others.

 

The Department is putting special effort into ensuring that the School of Citizenship, its methodology, programming and training offer, can reconcile in-person presence with the advantages offered by new communication technologies, so that for both students and teachers distances do not mean a problem.

 

The Mogán Citizenship School project is financed with just over 13.000 euros from the Department of the Presidency of the Cabildo de Canaria and its presentation is scheduled before the end of the year.
