Gran Canaria fashion returns to Madrid

The Minister of Economic Development accompanies the Moda Cálida designers who participate in Momad - the footwear and accessories fair held at Ifema - and consolidates ties with the Association of Spanish Fashion Creators (ACME)

 

Gran Canaria fashion celebrates a new event with the national and international market with the participation, in this case, of five brands from Gran Canaria Moda Cálida -Chacho Souvenirs, Alma Canaria, Daria Bae, Como la trout al trucho and Arantxa Arenas Desing- in the fair for footwear and accessories professionals that is held at Ifema until Sunday, February 11, Momad- and which is attended thanks to a collaboration of the Cabildo with Proexca, within its strategy of internationalization and expansion and improvement of positioning in the potential markets for SMEs, for the self-employed and artisans of the Islands. The Minister of Economic Development, Minerva Alonso, today accompanied the designers on a day in which she also held a meeting with the Association of Spanish Fashion Creators, ACME. 

 

Participation in Momad responds to a new initiative by Proexca in collaboration with the fashion groups of other Cabildos as well -Isla Bonita Moda, Lanzarote Moda and Tenerife Moda- with the aim of bringing the Canarian companies that have been selected through a call -a total of 18 - both Momad and Bisutex, which is also celebrated these days and is presented as the main instrument for the dissemination of trends and news in the jewelry and accessories sector.

In these meetings, designers and brands will present the creativity, design, quality and identity of their creations for the Spring/Summer 2024 and Autumn/Winter 2024-25 seasons, and “they will have the opportunity to connect with a specialized audience as well to develop new business opportunities,” as Alonso wanted to emphasize, who visited the stands of each of the firms and participated in the inauguration. “This is a unique marketing scenario, where locally produced collections are valued, many of them created under sustainability criteria, brought by our creators, and it is one more step in the Cabildo's policy of supporting brands to expand the market. and break barriers,” he said. 

 

And these days, companies and brands will have the opportunity to exhibit their creations in the salons, contact professionals in the sector and access meetings with commercial agents and multi-brand stores, national and international. A unique meeting for the participating SMEs that will enter the IFEMA International Guest program, which will allow the attending companies to invite their potential foreign clients. They will be able to benefit from unlimited and exclusive content and networking with professionals in their sector throughout the year. In addition, they will have access to the new Community LIVE Connect, a new model of relationship and permanent contact between clients and suppliers from around the world that enhances and reinforces the value proposition of the in-person experience.

 

Proexca is the public company of the Government of the Canary Islands to support the internationalization of Canarian companies, whose objective is to internationalize their product and service, diversify their business activity and improve their global competitiveness.

Planning training with ACME

 

On the other hand, the counselor also met today with the team of the Association of Fashion Creators of Spain (ACME) - headed by its president Modesto Lomba - to renew the commitment they have maintained for years with the promotion of the sector through different Actions. In this case, the meeting served to plan the formation of the Gran Canaria Moda Cálida 2024 school, which will have the advice of ACME and for which the needs of the Gran Canaria School of Art and Design and Higher School of Design and the IES La Minilla, where Vocational Training cycles are taught. In addition, new ways were addressed to continue integrating the bathroom made in Gran Canaria into the national market.
