Around 11:30 a.m., the Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Government of the Canary Islands received an alert in which lifeguards from Taurito beach reported that they had rescued a man from the sea and he was in cardiorespiratory arrest.
A 60-year-old man recovered from cardiorespiratory arrest after being rescued from the sea, transferred in critical condition by medical helicopter from the SUC to the Insular University Hospital of Gran Canaria.
A SUC coordinator nurse, present in the operating room, gave instructions through telecare so that they could begin practicing resuscitation maneuvers and apply a Semi-Automatic Defibrillator (DESA).

At the scene, SUC personnel confirmed that the affected person remained in cardiorespiratory arrest and continued practicing advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers, managing to recover his pulse. Once stabilized, he was transferred in critical condition by medical helicopter, which landed on the same beach, to the Insular University Hospital of Gran Canaria.
The Firefighters of the Gran Canaria Emergency Consortium and Mogán Civil Protection collaborated with the health personnel in assisting the affected person. The police services, the Local Police and the Civil Guard, secured the area for the landing and takeoff of the helicopter and took charge of the corresponding procedures.
