The tests for the taxi driver's license are called in San Bartolomé de Tirajana

 

 

Since last Friday, February 9, the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council has opened the public call for people who wish to take the skills tests necessary to obtain the municipal taxi driver permit in this municipality. The 30-day period established for submitting applications ends on March 10.

 

“This call responds to the commitment that the government of Mayor Marco Aurelio Pérez has acquired with the taxi sector, which has demanded a greater number of calls per year. Our goal is to do this more regularly. This is the second that has been processed since the new municipal government was formalized. The previous exams were held on November 27 and 28 and December 4, 2023, and 101 applicants appeared,” says the sixth deputy mayor and councilor for Urban Mobility and Transport, José Carlos Álamo Ojeda.

 

 

 

 

Those of legal age with a class B driving license, of Spanish nationality or members of the European Union, and also any non-EU applicant with a work authorization or permit, can apply for the call.

 

Applications can be submitted in paper format or electronically at the General Registry of the Town Hall in the Tunte Town Hall and the Municipal Offices of San Fernando de Maspalomas, or through the Town Hall's electronic office https://sede.maspalomas.com . They must be accompanied by the National Identity Document (DNI), the Category B Traffic License and proof of payment of the €30 examination fee.

 

The provisional list of admitted and excluded candidates will be posted to the public on the notice boards of the municipal website http_//www.maspalomas.com and the Municipal Transport Service, and also at the headquarters of the taxi drivers associations of San Bartolome de Tirajana. In the event that there are no exclusions, the provisional list will become definitive. If there are any, they may formulate the allegations and correct the defects of the instance within a period of ten business days.

 

The head of the Municipal Transport Service will participate in the qualifying panel of the tests as president, an official or labor officer from the same department will participate as secretary, and two officials or labor officers from the City Council will participate as members.

 

Two tests

 

The two tests of the new call will consist of a psychotechnical test aimed at assessing the aptitude of the applicants regarding behavior towards users of the taxi service, and an exam of 50 multiple choice questions with four alternative answers and only one correct one. , about the history of the municipality, culture, customs, city streets, geography and places of interest. In this sense, applicants will have to prove that they know the municipal area, its public roads, places of tourist interest, location of recreational facilities, public offices, official centers, main hotels, cultural centers, hospitals, Civil Protection, Firefighters. and the most direct routes to reach the required destination point. In addition, this exam will also contain questions on aspects related to customer service, the general regulations in force regarding taxi services, and basic knowledge of English regarding greetings, basic questions and answers, the calendar (dates, days, months , time), numbers and prices, and how to ask and respond regarding the addresses required by users.
