Silva gets tired of waiting for profits in Gran Canaria and moves to another hotel business

The former soccer player and hotel promoter David Silva, who was pending to execute the hotel project of Cordial Hotels, of which he is a partner, in the vicinity of the Ceisa cement plant, in the south of Gran Canaria, has changed course and has opted to operate in the Peninsula with a captive client: executives of the German group Volkswagen together with business leader Federico Fuster and other partners named Juan Planes and Vicente Lluch. The investment is 22 million euros in the development of a four-star hotel, close to the Volkswagen battery gigafactory. Construction is being carried out by Vito Construcciones, with an expected opening date of June 2025. The unique architectural design has been conceived by the prestigious Valencian studio Perreta Arquitectura.

The new accommodation will be managed by Climia Hoteles, directed by Fuster, and will generate 50 new jobs. As the company explains in a statement, it will occupy a constructed area of ​​9.352 square meters, offering 163 rooms and 46 apartments. It will include amenities such as a unique Mediterranean restaurant, gym, a spacious events room, a coworking space and meeting rooms, along with a Rooftop that will house a bar and a panoramic pool. The establishment has been named Hotel Lunic. 

With execution deadlines that reach up to 2026 and a cost of 226,63 million euros, the intermodal platform in this enclave will facilitate the transportation of goods. The Sagunto cell plant will create 3.000 direct jobs and will receive an investment of more than 3.000 million euros. In the first phase, two blocks will be built for the production of cells out of the four planned, and there will be a track bank at the railway terminal for the supply of raw materials and components required by the cells.
