The great SPAR Gran Canaria family, accompanied by the Foresta Foundation, has reforested 2.000 square meters around the Finca de Osorio by planting 250 new specimens of fayas and paloblancos. The day of coexistence in nature was enjoyed by approximately 120 SPAR Gran Canaria workers and their families.
Attendees enjoyed a family day in which workshops were also held for the little ones, who were able to build natural feeders for the birds in the area, participate in musical butterfly workshops, face painting and various traditional Canarian games. The day, which stood out for its educational nature and respect for the environment, ended with a picnic and a guided tour of the Osorio Estate.
With this initiative, SPAR Gran Canaria reinforces its long-standing collaboration with the Foresta Foundation to enrich the forest mass of Gran Canaria, and adds 250 new trees to the nearly 6.000 specimens that it has planted, which will reduce approximately two tons of CO2 / year for the next 30 years and contribute to recharging the island's aquifers.
SPAR Gran Canaria has collaborated with the Foresta Foundation since 2007 and continues to advance its commitment to the environment, looking to the future with gratitude and respect for the benefits of our land, with the firm purpose of making its environment a better place to live. Thus, during the 17 years of collaboration between both entities, reforestations have been carried out in Morro Santiago, Tenteniguada, Finca de Osorio, Valleseco, Los Llanos de la Pez, Finca Las Tabaibas, Artenara and San Juan De Dios, among other places.
