The City Council of San Bartolomé de Tirajana delivered transport vouchers without control of the efficiency of public spending and even skipping its own municipal ordinances, according to the annual report of the Audiencia de Audiencia de Canarias on the period of management of the social emergency derived from Covid19 . The lack of control of official aid has officials in an uncomfortable situation because they warned the authorities of that time, PSOE and NC, that the control protocols were out of coverage.

During the special period due to Covid in Tirajana, 2.362 subsidies were granted exceptionally, which represents 96,4% of the total amount. Of all the subsidies granted, 2.105, equivalent to 89,1%, were in kind. The amount of official aid, adding in kind and money, amounts to 494.853,96 euros.

The report of the Audience of Accounts of the Canary Islands, to which Maspalomas24H has had access, indicates that "the corporation has not prepared" an annual action plan that, in accordance with article 85 of the RLGS, the granting body of the subsidy will have. the obligation to prepare annually to verify the implementation by the beneficiaries of the subsidized activities, which will indicate whether the verification obligation covers all of the subsidies or a sample of those granted; It must also contain the main aspects to be checked and the moment of its completion. There is also no evidence that a financial control report for subsidies has been carried out.

Of the total grants awarded, 2.199, representing 93,1% and 54,5% respectively, of the total number and amount were awarded for an amount less than 500 euros, followed by those granted in the range of 1.000 to 1.999 euros, with 106 subsidies, 31,8% of the total amount. In relation to subsidies intended to meet social needs, in accordance with the Emergency Ordinance and the Benefits Regulation, the highest percentage of aid was allocated to food, both in number and amount, with 84,6%. and 52,4%, respectively, followed by rental aid, which in terms of amount represents 38,8%.
