The concert is scheduled to be held on March 23 at the Maspalomas Municipal Stadium and Maspalomas Tourism took it to Fitur to put it on par with Maspalomas Pride and La Liga Futures
It has been the news of the weekend because of the absurdity it entails and the implausibility of the events: a dozen people gathered in the Dunes of Maspalomas with shovels and bags to destroy a Protected Natural Area with the category of Special Natural Reserve for some time. three decades to look for 1000 euros.
But how did those 1000 euros get there? The explanation was made clear by those directly responsible for the nonsense. 'They gave us a thousand euros to promote the concert and instead of burning them in advertisements on TV, we are going to hide it around the island' said the three kids in the promotional video with the arrogance and with the gesticulation and cocky tone typical of those who consider that their light bulb has turned on and they have found a great revolutionary idea.
The video was published on Instagram by the account @alvi_ent, which, as usual in these cases of mistakes between 'influencers', has opted for the path of maturity and has decided to put its tail between its legs and delete all its publications, leaving its account without activity.
However, the concert promoter does seem like a more serious entity than three kids with a camera and a briefcase with a thousand euros. This is DN7Music, a company based in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and with extensive experience in the world of music and festivals. In addition, it already has its history in the municipality, since it has been responsible for carrying out concerts such as Il Divo in Maspalomas.
The DN7 Festival promises 7 hours of urban music and has already confirmed some artists such as Tiago PZK, Chris MJ or Omar Montes. In addition, it offers tickets that start at 50 euros for the most basic ones up to the 'Super Premium', which for 180 euros gives you preferential access, toiletries and the possibility of meeting 'celebrities and influencers' at the photocall.
The event poster features the presence of the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council and the Maspalomas Costa Canaria tourism brand; and it is no wonder, since this festival was one of those that San Bartolomé brought to Fitur to show off its events and put it on the same level as Maspalomas Pride or La Liga Futures. The CEO of the company that makes the festival possible, David Navarro, was present along with Marco Aurelio, Alejandro Marichal and the Councilor for Tourism, Yilenia Vega.
At the moment, the company has not commented on the matter. Nor are any of the minds behind this promotional initiative that has ended up resulting in the umpteenth environmental attack of which the Maspalomas Dunes Protected Natural Area is a victim.
The ones who have spoken out have been the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council, which has distanced itself from this action, stating that it did not have authorization from the council, and the Gran Canaria Cabildo, which has stated that it will “act with maximum forcefulness” against the authors of this crappy treasure hunt; thus confirming that, as they boasted in the promotional video, it would have been a better idea to “burn” those thousand euros in some alternative promotional method rather than doing nonsense where it shouldn't be.
