Individual or group applications, aged between 9 and 16 years, residing in Gran Canaria, who present the required documentation before March 29, will be eligible for the call.
The SPAR Gran Canaria supermarket chain launches the fifth edition of its 'Youth Talent Scholarship'. This initiative is part of the chain's corporate social responsibility program and has a financial award of up to 3.000 euros for this edition. SPAR Gran Canaria thus maintains its promotion of culture and sport among the island's youth, who find in this scholarship important support for their studies and opportunities for advancement in sports, cultural and gastronomic practice.
The aid is intended for young people between 9 and 16 years old, residents of Gran Canaria who, having demonstrated talent and abilities in any of the cultural, gastronomic and/or sports disciplines included in the scholarship rules, require financial resources to face their training, training and/or travel needs outside the island area to participate in studies, meetings or competitions.
SPAR Gran Canaria will thus provide up to 3.000 euros to the beneficiary of this edition, which may be a single individual application or a group modality, provided that the requirements set out in the call are met, proving their talent and need for financial support.

The previous edition of the SPAR Gran Canaria 'Youth Talent Scholarship' was awarded to the young promise of windsurfing Bruno Bárbara Tor, who was able to cover all the expenses of the trip and his participation in the World Championship, in which he managed to revalidate his title as world champion for the second consecutive year.
Among previous recipients of the scholarship is also the gymnast María Juste Marrero, who was able to cover training, equipment and travel expenses to continue her preparation and attendance at regional and national competitions planned by her coaches and clubs. As well as the young violinist, Gabriel Meneses Franco, who was able to acquire his first luthier violin, in addition to enrolling in his studies at the Professional Conservatory of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria during the six years in which he is covering his musical training and all the teaching material necessary for your studies: books, strings or sheet music. The aid was also granted in 2018 to the chess player from Gran Canaria, Jenny Sanabria, who, thanks to the scholarship, covered the expenses of travel and participation in the Individual World Chess Championship.
