The City Council of San Bartolomé de Tirajana commemorates International Women's Day (March 8) once again with a program of activities aimed at reinforcing the work plan that the Department of Equality is carrying out to make visible, protect, demand and dignify the lives of women in the family and in society.
The list of events scheduled by said department with the collaboration of the Education and Culture area, both directed by the second deputy mayor Elena Álamo Vega and coordinated by the councilor delegate Esther Delgado Sánchez, will take place throughout the entire month of March and almost all in the afternoon to facilitate neighborhood participation.
Thus, this Friday, March 8, the emblematic buildings of the Maspalomas Lighthouse, Municipal Offices of San Fernando and the Maspalomas Cultural Center will be illuminated starting at 18:30 p.m. with the purple and violet tones that identify the struggle of the feminist movement for equality, workers' rights and against discrimination.
The next day, March 9, the 24th María Ángeles Ruano Suárez Walk for Equality will be held, from San Fernando to the Maspalomas Lighthouse along the shore of Playa del Inglés. The meeting space and departure point is once again the Casa Condal park at 08:00 a.m.

On Wednesday, March 13, a talk-workshop on 'emotional intelligence and conscious leadership' will be offered at the Maspalomas Cultural Center, which will be facilitated by the Human Resources expert Carlos Almonacid, and from March 19 to June 25, a workshop on personal self-defense at the Equality Center. It will be offered by the Energym Sur Club expert María Belén Décima every Tuesday from 16:30 p.m. to 18.00:XNUMX p.m. It is completely free, although prior registration is required, which must be formalized at the Department of Equality.
The proposal for Friday, March 22 is cinematic. 'Cortos en feminine' will offer a screening of half a dozen short films directed by women at the Maspalomas Cultural Center at 19.00:XNUMX p.m. Tickets must be reserved at https://tureservaonline.es/eventos-maspalomas/.
