The security and mobility plan that the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council has agreed with the security and emergency forces of the municipality on the occasion of the Great Parade of the Maspalomas International Carnival provides for the closure of road access to Playa del Inglés and recommends the use of public transport.

In that sense, drivers should keep in mind that this Saturday, March 16, starting at 08:00 a.m., exits 43 of the highway towards El Veril and Las Burras, both south and north, will be completely closed. to traffic. At that same time, the section of European Union Avenue will also be closed from the Viuda de Franco intersection to the El Veril roundabout, where the floats will be located. Parking will be prohibited on Moya Street and only public transport vehicles will have access until 13:00 p.m.
Access to Maspalomas and Playa del Inglés can be done through the Lomo de Maspalomas and through exit 46 of the highway towards Avenida Touroperador Tui. However, drivers must anticipate that from 13:00 p.m. traffic towards Campo Internacional along that avenue will be cut off at the taxi drivers' gas station and will be completely redirected towards Alejandro del Castillo in the direction of the Health Center. and Avenida de Colón-El Faro.
It should also be taken into account that from 16:00 p.m. until the end of the event, the European Union Avenue (former GC-500) between the intersections of El Tablero and Viuda de Franco will be closed to traffic. Only empty public transport services on a passenger collection mission will be able to access it. For this, two charging points have been established. The taxi station will be operational at the bus stop located in front of the Mercurio Building heading south, and the Global one will be operational on the stretch of sidewalk that goes from the Viuda de Franco to the Ronda Shopping Center. The taxi rank for picking up travelers closest to Yumbo will be located on Avenida de Bonn, which will serve as a border for traffic. In that sense, the entire street of Playa del Inglés, from that same avenue upwards to San Fernando, will be closed to traffic from 16:00 p.m. until the end of the event. The only exit route from Playa del Inglés that will remain open at all times will be through Morocco Street to continue along Avenida de Madrid to the Tropical Park. Another street that will be completely closed to traffic at 13:00 p.m. and until the end of the event will be Finnair Avenue, from the Pepe Chiringo roundabout to European Union Avenue.
Starting at 16:00 p.m., traffic on Avenida de la Unión Europea coming from San Agustín in a southerly direction will not be able to continue towards Playa del Inglés-Maspalomas and at the BP gas station it will be diverted towards the links with the Highway. In addition, at that same time Avenida de Tirajana will also be closed from Tejeda Street (San Fernando) to Bonn Avenue. It should also be noted that on Tejeda Avenue, in the section between Tunte and Tirajana avenues, a passenger unloading point will be established for public transport in general, so parking is prohibited from 08:00 a.m. on said road.
The only access available to Playa del Inglés from 16:00 p.m. until the end of the event will be through the Christopher Columbus monument roundabout towards Avenida Touroperador Tui with a later deviation towards Touroperador Neckermann avenues, adjacent to the Campo de Golf, and the climb towards Avenida de Gran Canaria.

Parking is not allowed
The mobility and security plan for the Great Parade of the Maspalomas International Carnival establishes that from 08:00 a.m. until the end of the event, parking is prohibited on Avenida de Italia (from Escorial Street to Morocco Street); on Avenida de Gran Canaria (from Avenida de Italia to Avenida 8 de Marzo); on Morocco Street (between Avenida de Tenerife and Avenida de Italia); on Avenida de Tirajana (from Avenida 8 de Marzo to Avenida de Bonn); on Avenida de Bonn (from Avenida de España to Avenida de Tirajana, which will be reserved for taxi services), and the lane of the Church of San Fernando on Avenida de Tejeda, which will remain as a passenger drop-off space. of taxis and buses.
