This morning, the Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Government of the Canary Islands received an alert stating that the lifeguard at the pool of a hotel in Puerto Rico, municipality of Mogán, He had rescued an unconscious man from the water.
A 34-year-old man recovered from cardiorespiratory arrest and with signs of drowning, transferred in critical condition by medical ambulance from the SUC to the Insular University Hospital of Gran Canaria.
A person who identified himself as a doctor confirmed that the affected person was in cardiorespiratory arrest and together with the lifeguard and a police officer who was at the scene, they began to practice resuscitation maneuvers, managing to recover his pulse.
1-1-2 immediately activated the necessary emergency resources. The SUC personnel assessed and assisted the affected person who, once stabilized, was transferred in critical condition by medical ambulance to the aforementioned hospital.
Local Police and National Police agents collaborated with the rest of the emergency resources and made the appropriate reports.
