Rescued from the water with cardiorespiratory arrest
At around 15:36 p.m., the Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Government of the Canary Islands received an alert in which it was reported that a 26-year-old young man of Portuguese nationality had been rescued from the sea with signs of drowning and required medical assistance.
1-1-2 immediately activated the necessary emergency resources.
After verifying that the affected person was in cardiorespiratory arrest, Red Cross troops began to perform resuscitation maneuvers on him until the arrival of SUC health personnel who continued practicing advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers without obtaining results, confirming the death of the bather.
Security personnel collaborated in the incident and took charge of the corresponding procedures.
