Nini Oliveira and Marcel Höeche highlight the excellent conditions of Gran Canaria for training in the middle of nature

 

Brazilian professional trail runner Nini Oliveira and German runner Marcel Höeche have highlighted on their social media the excellent conditions of Gran Canaria for outdoor sports, both for its year-round pleasant climate and its extensive network of trails, which allows athletes to discover spectacular natural landscapes. Both athletes, who recently visited the island to train and compete, highly praised the planning and services offered by the Gran Canaria Natural & Active association , the official tourism brand of Gran Canaria. They particularly highlighted the rural accommodations nestled in nature, where they were able to rest and recharge.

 

During their stay on the island, the athletes stayed at the Hotel Rural Las Longueras , a twelve-room former mansion located in the Agaete Valley amidst a fruit orchard, where they enjoyed the views, swimming pool, and solarium. This beautiful accommodation is ideal for hiking, cycling, and even diving, as it is located just a few kilometers from the beach.

 

 

 

 

They also stayed at the El Pajar de Casa de La Virgen country house , a charming two-story traditional house dating from the late 19th century, with a gabled wooden roof and thick stone walls. This home, equipped with everything necessary for a comfortable stay, is located on the Finca de la Virgen de Valleseco estate; a place of extraordinary environmental and heritage value.

 

 

 

 

Finally, the athletes were able to spend a few days at the Casa Rural María Luisa , located at an altitude of approximately 1.500 meters above the lava flows of Gran Canaria's last volcano, which is about 3.000 years old. This house is part of the Montañón Negro Ecological Farm , an idyllic setting known for its tranquility and the pure air thanks to the remarkable presence of tree species such as chestnut and fir trees, and a place where rural tourism is combined with agricultural and livestock activities.

 

 

 

 

In addition to Agaete, Valleseco and Moya, both Nini Oliveira and Marcel Höeche were able to train in the municipality of Tejeda and visit natural monuments such as Roque Nublo or Roque Bentayga. His pleasant personal experience on the island was transferred to his more than 180.000 followers, who were recommended to come to Gran Canaria to practice their favorite outdoor sport, and especially hiking and trail running.
