The passage of a cold front will be noticeable in Gran Canaria, although much less than the DANA suffered a few days ago
The winter weather refuses to leave the islands in the middle of spring. After the voracious passage of DANA last weekend, a new front is expected to leave some showers, considerable gusts of wind and a slight drop in temperatures starting this Holy Thursday.
Where it will be most noticeable will be on the coasts, where warnings have already been issued for adverse coastal phenomena and for waves that could exceed 6 meters. This cold front, named Nelson, will leave instability in the archipelago until at least Sunday.
Despite this, it will not reach the intensity of last weekend's DANA. The regional Executive has already started to alert the population of the arrival of Nelson and has decreed an alert for coastal phenomena on the northern coast of La Gomera, Tenerife and Gran Canaria starting at 22:00 p.m. this Thursday.
In addition, the General Directorate of Emergencies of the Government of the Canary Islands has decreed a pre-alert for rain starting at 21:00 p.m. for La Palma, north and northwest of El Hierro and north of La Gomera and Tenerife.
