The City Council of San Bartolomé de Tirajana reinforces the hierarchical operation of its Local Police by incorporating a woman for the first time in its history
The command structure of the Local Police Corps of the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council has 5 new officers since this Wednesday, with Guacimara Ojeda Lorenzo joining it as the first woman to access said hierarchical rank.
The delivery of gallons and the taking of possession have been formalized before Mayor Marco Aurelio Pérez Sánchez and the councilors responsible for Security and Human Resources, José Carlos Álamo and Elena Álamo Vega, respectively, and also in the presence of the chief commissioner and the municipal secretary .
The new officers are Francisco José Morales Araña, José Alberto Santana Socorro, Guacimara Ojeda, Francisco Jonathan García Hernández and Rubén Carlos Ramos Santana, who together have a total of 115 years of police service in this municipality.
"With these five promotions, the hierarchical and command operation of the Local Police leadership is reinforced, whose structure is now composed of a chief commissioner, three sub-inspectors, two of them already in training, and seven officers, although one of them is incorporated here on secondment from the police force of the Santa Lucía City Council,” says the Councilor for Security and Emergencies, José Carlos Álamo.
The most veteran of the new officers is Francisco José Morales, a graduate in security and risk control and multi-sector security coordinator, who has already been a local agent for 30 years. This is followed by José Alberto Santana, with 28 years of service and a degree in security and risk control, multi-sector coordinator of security and emergency resources, director of private security and trainer and canine guide of drug and explosive detection dogs.
The new Officer Guacimara Ojeda, who spoke with the mayor about her professional background, was the first in her promotion and has also become the first woman to access the command ranks of the Local Police of San Bartolomé de Tirajana. She has a degree in Law and a master's degree in Law, and has been working as a municipal agent for 25 years, of which 13 in the Reporting Unit, 10 in the night operating groups and 2 in the Traffic and Citizen Security services. She is also a first dan of karate and a national teacher of this sporting discipline in the Shito-Ryü modality.
The other two new commanders with the rank of officer, Rubén Carlos Ramos and Francisco Jonathan García, each have 16 years of service in the Local Police. Francisco is studying a degree in security and risk control and Rubén has a degree in Law and is currently studying for a master's degree in Law and Procurement.
62 places
These promotions are part of the staffing and modernization plan for the Local Police Corps that the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council is undertaking, also focused on gradually compensating for the deficit of agents that it has been suffering for years due to retirement and casualties of its troops. With this objective, the Department of Security and Emergencies has two open-shift opposition procedures underway to cover a total of 62 positions for new local agents between this year and next year.
The first of the calls, for 30 places, is already in the correction phase of the development exam and only the practical and medical exams are missing, while the procedure for the other 32 places announced last October 11 is in study phase for the admission or non-admission of registrants that will give way to the testing journey.
