The fishing neighborhood of El Pajar will celebrate its Patron Saint Festival in honor of Santa Águeda, from April 05 to 14, with a program of events where music, childhood and tradition will be the protagonists in all events. The program organized by the Festival Commission and with the collaboration of the Department of Celebrations and Events of the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council, will begin on Friday the 05th with a parade led by Banda Isleña and accompanied by Disney Dolls from 'Fantasy Animation'. The celebration will continue with the proclamation offered by the General Coordinator of Ceisa, Claudio Piernavieja and the official opening of the festivities by the mayor of the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council, Marco Aurelio Pérez; and the Councilor for Celebrations and Events, Yilenia Vega.
On Saturday the 06th, the celebration will begin very early with a foam party suitable for all audiences that will take place at 11:00 on the court; and starting at 17:00 p.m., residents and visitors will celebrate the bird pilgrimage-offering that will leave from the Cesa Village and which they must attend dressed in typical clothing. The music will come with the festival by the Panamaribe, Star Music and Ritmo Bakano orchestras, starting at 22:30 p.m.
A traditional market and musical performances by DJ Promaster, Julio y la metralla, Pedro Afonso, Kilian Viera and Grupo La Coctelera, will be in charge of enlivening Sunday from 11:00 a.m. in the 4th Meeting 'Pajareros al sol' that will take place will develop on Juan Moreno Artiles Avenue. There will be no shortage of Gift Bingo Monday with traditional chocolate and churros at the El Pajar location; and on Tuesday laughter will be the protagonist with the Laughter Therapy workshop taught by Jonathan Cruz (Payaso Zapito). In addition, on Wednesday the little ones in the house will have a marathon of children's workshops and traditional games in the Plaza; and on Thursday the Senior Meeting will be held with a performance by CD Gimati (San Bartolomé de Tirajana Senior Gym) after which a snack will be held to which all residents of the neighborhood and visitors are invited. The night will end with the festival by 'Nueva Imagen y su Bandurria' and 'Ritmo Sureño'.
To close the festivities, the last weekend will feature lots of sports and festivals. Thus, on Friday, April 12, the Futbito Viejas glorias pajareras meeting will be held, the Figure Skating exhibition with CD Arays and then the Scala in children's Hi-Fi. On Saturday the neighbors will participate in the Gymnkana that will be located in the beach area and in the afternoon, the Macro Birdie Birthday will be celebrated with inflatables, clowns, face painting, among other entertainment. The dawn festival will be entertained by DJ Promaster, Acuarela, Armonía Show and Furia Joven; and will conclude with a fireworks display by Pirotecnia San Miguel.
On Sunday, to say goodbye to the festivities, Banda Isleña will play music in the streets of the town and will announce the Great Fish Asadero with gofio and mojo that will begin at 12:00 p.m.; which will tie with the Verbena del Solajero in which Yeray Socorro, Luz de Luna, Yoni y Aya and Paco Guedes will participate.
