In this edition, the fair has the participation of 81 companies and 19 town councils, which is 33% more than in 2023.
Everything is ready so that next weekend, from Friday, April 19 to Sunday, April 21, Infecar will once again host the benchmark event for our island's product, the Gran Canaria Me Gusta Fair.
Promoted and financed by the Cabildo of Gran Canaria and organized by Infecar Feria de Gran Canaria, in collaboration with the Ministry of Economic Development, Industry, Commerce and Crafts and the Ministry of Primary Sector, Food Sovereignty and Water Security, the Gran Canaria Me Fair Gusta celebrates its 11th edition this year, highlighting the traditions of the primary sector, the products of our land and industrial processing in the archipelago as a means of promoting the economy.
Thus, this annual event is the ideal setting to showcase the excellence of the local product and the island's gastronomy, facilitating in the same space the direct sale of products and an extensive program of activities that, led by experts, will give know the particularities of our products, their production and elaboration, enhancing their identity.
This Wednesday, April 10, the presentation of this event took place in which the president of the Cabildo of Gran Canaria, Antonio Morales, participated; the Minister of Economic Development, Industry, Commerce and Crafts, Minerva Alonso; and the Minister of Primary Sector, Food Sovereignty and Water Security, Miguel Hidalgo.
With the presentation of this 11th edition of the Gran Canaria Me Gusta Fair, “we once again put the agri-food products of our island at the center, trying to highlight the importance of local consumption for various reasons such as its characteristics, because we know its origin, for the influence it has on the local economy and job creation, in addition to the care it represents for our territory,” said Morales.
The president has celebrated that the fair has increased its participation to 81 companies and 19 town councils, compared to the 51 companies and 16 town councils that participated in 2023. “It is very important that the business sectors make efforts so that we guarantee the departure of the harvests and the firm commitment to local products.”
Likewise, Morales recalled that the Gran Canaria Me Gusta Fair will open its doors this Friday, April 19, offering direct purchase by visitors, “but also as a meeting space for citizens, the product, companies and also leisure. and family enjoyment.”
For her part, the Minister of Economic Development, Industry, Commerce and Crafts of the Cabildo of Gran Canaria, Minerva Alonso, has highlighted as a novelty “the participation on this occasion of Asinca, which will have 15 companies within a stand under the Elaborado seal in the Canary Islands and in which they will publicize the work of these companies in the economic panorama of the island of Gran Canaria.”
Alonso, who has reviewed various details of the program, has announced that at the gastronomic exhibitions this year "the Michelin Star chef of the El Bohío Restaurant and MasterChef jury, Pepe Rodríguez, will be present, who will delight those present with a gastronomic demonstration in which “The local product will be the protagonist.”
The Minister of Primary Sector, Food Sovereignty and Water Security of the Cabildo of Gran Canaria, Miguel Hidalgo, has outlined the program of Primary Sector activities that once again has a presence in pavilion 7 under Infecar. “We have contemplated up to five classrooms with space for up to 40 people in each session, offering sensory tastings, product tastings, demonstrations, etc. in which we intend to show the great work of the sector on our island.”
Thus, visitors will be able to enjoy a large exhibition space in pavilion 7 high for the sale of local products; in pavilion 7 ground floor, for Primary Sector activities; in pavilion 6, with more exhibition space and the representation of Asinca; in pavilion 5 with more exhibition space, the gastronomic exhibitions, the Regional Cooking Competition in the Professional modality and the awards ceremony of the XVIII Official Honey Competition of Gran Canaria 2023; and in the Congress Palace for children's workshops.
A program full of activities
In this eleventh edition, the Gran Canaria Me Gusta Fair will focus on the gastronomic work being carried out locally by great chefs from the archipelago, who will delight those present at the gastronomic exhibitions. Thus, during Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the main stage of pavilion 5 of Infecar will become a large kitchen in which to learn every detail of the proposals of these masters of the kitchen.
Likewise, in the national section, this edition will have the presence of the chef and MasterChef jury Pepe Rodríguez, who will hold an exhibition that will combine tradition and modernity with local products as the main protagonist.
Added to all this, the Gran Canaria Me Gusta Fair has a large space for learning and discovery led by the Primary Sector, which will address tastings, workshops and product tastings in the Sabor y Saber 1 and 2 classrooms; the Gran Canaria Wines classroom; the Carnes de Gran Canaria classroom and the Much More than Fishing classroom. These spaces thus become the ideal space to make visible the agricultural, livestock and fishing activities that take place on our island and that are a means of life for many families.

children's workshops
The little ones in the house will continue to have their space during the celebration of the Gran Canaria Me Gusta Fair. On this occasion, Loreto Riera, winner of MasterChef Junior 10, will be the guest chef at the Gran Canaria Me Gusta Fair. Loreto, accompanied by Alejandro de la Nuez, will guide the boys and girls during the making of the recipes, made up of different products from the island.
Also, SPAR Gran Canaria will once again hold the traditional Fruit Art Workshop. In addition to learning the importance of having a healthy diet and lifestyle, boys and girls will have to make two figures with different types of fruits that they will also be able to taste.

Visitors can now get their tickets to attend the eleventh edition of the Gran Canaria Me Gusta Fair at www.feriagrancanariamegusta.es at a cost of 1,50 euros, as well as the three days of the fair at the venue's box office.
The Gran Canaria Me Gusta Fair will open its doors from 9.30:19.30 a.m. to 19:20 p.m. on Friday, April 9.30 and Saturday, April 16.00; and from 21:XNUMX a.m. to XNUMX:XNUMX p.m. on Sunday, April XNUMX.
