The preventive talks and workshops on first aid, cardio-pulmonary resuscitation, sexuality, menstruation, nutrition and smoking will reach students during this month of April and May
The Department of Education of the City Council of San Bartolomé de Tirajana and the Health centers of Arguineguín, Doctoral and Maspalomas are offering all Primary and Secondary educational centers in this municipality a series of talks and training and preventive workshops on social and health matters.
These talks and workshops, lasting two hours and taught by male and female nurses from health centers, are part of the Municipal School Health Program that will be developed during the months of April and May by the Department of Education directed by the second deputy mayor, Elena. Álamo Vega, and coordinated by the councilor delegate Esther Delgado Sánchez.
This social and health training will reach practically all students in the municipality, from children aged 4 and 5 years. For the youngest students they will cover first aid and cardio-pulmonary resuscitation, and for those from 4th to 6th grade in Primary, in addition to the latter, also about the first menstruation.
For older students, ESO and Baccalaureate, the talks and workshops will focus on the proper use of health services, sexual health and healthy habits, especially regarding food, smoking and consumption of sishas.
