The Local Police of Mogán holds a course on electronic control devices

The Department of Citizen Security of the Mogán City Council and the Municipality's Local Police Headquarters have organized a course on electronic control devices framed in the programming established by the General Directorate of Security and Emergencies of the Government of the Canary Islands. About twenty local police officers from Mogán have participated in this training action, as well as other officers from La Aldea de San Nicolás, Tejeda, San Bartolomé de Tirajana and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, as well as the Canarian Police.

The objective of the conference, held in the conference room of the Cordial Mogán Valle Apartments, was “to provide the legal knowledge and techniques, skills and abilities necessary for the management and proper use of electronic control devices (ECD)” , reported the Chief of the Mogán Local Police, Jorge Alemán. 

 

DECs, popularly known as stun guns, are devices that produce temporary incapacitation. “Today their use is on the rise by police forces, especially in local areas,” Alemán pointed out, indicating that the Mogán Local Police has eight of these weapons, specifically Phazzer Enforcer and TASER, operational 24 hours a day. all year.
