The Canarian Black Pig Gastronomic Days in Agüimes celebrate ten years

From November 19 to 28, nine establishments in the municipality will offer delicious recipes based on meat that stands out for its flavor and nutritional qualities.

Who wouldn't want to try a stew of pork ribs, a gandinga with pork liver, in the Cuban or Puerto Rican way, a black pork patacón, also in the Caribbean style, or a turre in mejunje, a typical recipe from the island of Tenerife? What if all these dishes were prepared with Canarian black pig meat? That is the proposal of the tenth edition of the Canary Black Pig Gastronomic Days, which will be held in the municipality of Agüimes from November 19 to 28.

 

In addition to the recipes already mentioned, the Conference will offer other delicacies made with local black pork, such as the sirloin medallion with boletus and fig sauce, the secret with mashed sweet potatoes and caramelized cherry tomato or the pizza, the stew with potatoes and roast knuckle. The dishes can be paired with excellent local wines from the "Viñas Aguayro" and "Señorío de Agüimes" wineries, belonging to the Gran Canaria Designation of Origin.

 

The secret of the success of this new gastronomic event, which has more followers every year, will once again be in the quality of the raw material, not only the meat of the Canarian black pig, which stands out for its flavor and nutritional qualities, but also the ingredients that accompany it, fresh products of local origin. A total of nine establishments in the municipality will participate in this tenth edition: Gastrobar El Populacho, Bar San Antón, Restaurante Señorío de Agüimes, Pizzeria Valentina, Tasca Alegranza by González. La Estación Bar, Belén Gutiérrez Vélez Groceries, La Esquina Bar and El Guachinche Restaurant. It can be reserved to taste at the premises or also place orders to take away, by contacting each establishment directly.

 

The Conference will also feature the participation of chef Santiago Gorrín, from the El Guachinche Restaurant, who will give a live demonstration for the cooking students of the Villa de Agüimes Integrated Vocational Training Center. It will be on Thursday, November 25, starting at 17.00:XNUMX p.m.
