The first meeting is scheduled for April 26
The Deputy Minister of Tourism of the Government of the Canary Islands, José Manuel Sanabria, and the general director of Tourism Planning, Training and Promotion, Miguel Ángel Rodríguez, held a working meeting this Wednesday with the Association of Tourist Municipalities of the Canary Islands (AMTC) focused on draft of the Law on Sustainable Management of the Tourist Use of Housing.

The municipal officials and technical staff of San Bartolomé de Tirajana participated electronically in the meeting; Mogan; Adeje; Arona; Santiago del Teide; Aunts; Teguise and Antigua.
The local entities exchanged impressions on the text proposed by the regional Executive, which not only regulates the tourist use of housing, but also affects urban planning, territorial planning, the environment, housing, quality of life, preservation of historical heritage and also in sustainable mobility.
The president of the AMTC and mayor of Adeje, José Miguel Rodríguez Fraga, assured that "from the entity we agree on the need for there to be a law that regulates phenomena such as vacation rentals, regardless of the particular assessments of each City Council."
For his part, the general director detailed the steps in the processing of the new rule, which is currently in the hearing and public information phase, and recalled that “after the extension of the deadline by five days, it will remain open until the 9th. of May".
Along these lines, Rodríguez reported that “we understand that it is a law that must have the greatest consensus of all the administrations involved and that is why we will convene a joint work table with the Association of Tourist Municipalities of the Canary Islands to be held before the end of April. ”.
