The educational and sports project designed by the former Guaguas player and Maspalomas firefighter, Pablo Bautista Pérez, to disseminate and teach the practice of this Olympic sport to the secondary school students of San Bartolomé de Tirajana now reaches its eighth edition
The Yes Beach Volleyball training project, promoted by the Gran Canaria Sand Lizards CD and aimed at the dissemination, teaching and improvement of this Olympic sport in Primary and Secondary educational centers in the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, mainly in high schools, has A tournament was held on the occasion of its eighth edition in the sports area of Playa del Inglés.
The competition, in which 140 students from IES El Tablero I-Agüañac participated, was organized by the club promoting this project with the technical collaboration of Professor José Ignacio Castilla Suárez and the 30 students of the Higher Training Cycle of Sports Physical Conditioning that teaches at said institute.

Also contributing to the development of this educational and sporting event were the Departments of Sports, Education and Tourism of the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council, directed respectively by councilors Ramón Suárez Ojeda, Esther Delgado Sánchez and Yilenia Vega Macías, and the Sports Institute of the Gran Canaria Cabildo.

The Yes Beach Volleyball project is designed and promoted by the former Guaguas Volleyball Club player Pablo Bautista Pérez, a graduate in Physical Education from the ULPGC and an international FIVB beach volleyball coach, who has been a firefighter in this municipality since 2007.
Various sponsoring firms have been collaborating in the development of the project over the years. In this eighth edition it has had the support of the companies Guaguas Municipales, La Bella, Firgas, Holiday World, Tirma, Gelizia, Perestelo and Ferver.
The Councilor for Sports Ramón Suárez values the “extraordinary work that the CD Sand Lizards and its president Pablo Bautista are carrying out for the promotion of beach volleyball in our municipality and more specifically in Maspalomas, which meets all the necessary conditions for it to take place. promote and develop this type of outdoor sports education projects.”
