PROGRAM OF THE SAN JOSÉ WORKER FESTIVALS 2024

 

El Cruce de Arinaga will celebrate its festivities in honor of San José Obrero from April 25 to May 4, with a program full of cultural, recreational and sporting events that will have the Primero de Mayo square as its central axis. Among the most notable events are the offering pilgrimage on Sunday, April 28, the Livestock Fair on Wednesday, May 1, the folklore meetings on April 28 and May 3, and the outstanding performances of comedian Kike Pérez, on April 30. April and Los Gofiones, on May 1.


The activities will begin next Thursday, April 25, at 09:00, with the celebration of the 28th edition of the Gran Canaria Secondary Education Meeting, an event that this year takes place at the Cruce de Arinaga, where it is expected bring together nearly 3.000 students from all over the island. That same day, at night, at 21:00 p.m., the Ballet Sensación will perform before its audience, in the Primero de Mayo square, in a new Variety Gala.


On Friday the 26th, at 18:00 p.m., the Youth Space will host the 'Track and Trace' activity, a fun orientation test aimed at people between 14 and 30 years old, who can register through the website events.aguimes. is. At 22:00 p.m. the party will return to the Primero de Mayo square with the celebration of the Young People's Night, enlivened by the music of DJs Sammyto and Óscar Martínez.


On the morning of Saturday the 27th, the little ones in the house will be able to have a great time in the children's playground that will be installed starting at 11:00. In the afternoon, at 19:00 p.m., the Serenade Night will begin with the participation of the Llanos Prietos Folkloric Workshop. At 22:30 p.m. there will be the first big festival of the holidays, starring Mekánica by Tamarindos and Grupo Arena.


The most popular day will be Sunday, April 28. The day of events will start at 10:00 with the celebration of the Egenenacar Club Fighting Trophy. At 11:00 the Offering Pilgrimage will take place in honor of San José Obrero, which will depart from the attached parking lots of the Doramas School. In the afternoon, at 15:00 p.m., the Primero de Mayo square will host a party gathering with the participation of the groups El Ejido, Risco Verde, Merita la Pena, Los Chano, Polvajera, Mejunje, El Botellín and Amasijo.

On Tuesday, April 30 at 20:30 p.m., comedian Kike Pérez will take the stage in the square to make people laugh with his delirious ideas and thoughts and with his comical anecdotes. After his performance, a new festival will take place with the music of Paco Guedes, Star Music, and DJ Promaster. On Wednesday, May 1, a festive day, the traditional Livestock Fair will take place, starting at 08:00 on the land attached to the Juliano Bonny warehouse. In the evening, at 20:00 p.m., Los Gofiones will offer a concert commemorating their 55th anniversary.


Traditional music will continue to be the protagonist on Friday, May 3, at the Taifa San José Obrero meeting, which will begin at 19:00 p.m. The event will feature performances by the folkloric groups Tacoremi, La Sal, Tesey, San Gabriel, El Ejido and Parriba Pal Ingenio.


The program of events will end on Saturday, May 4, with two outstanding dance events. The first of them will be the 'Dance Battle 1VS1 All Style' competition, which will take place starting at 16:00 p.m. Later, at 19:00 p.m., 'Al son de la Salsa' will take place, a meeting offered by Agüidance Projects in which attendees can have a great time dancing and enjoying themselves in the company of family, friends and neighbors.
