The budgets of the Government of the Canary Islands of PSOE and NC for 2022 look good for the south of Gran Canaria. There is no choice but to support employment and tourism due to the evolution of the consumption of face-to-face services, and to a greater extent in restaurants. The Canary Islands Government expects consumption to remain at a low level for a while, although it is expected to recover as the impact of the pandemic lessens and is favored by the government's economic measures.
For Expomeloneras, of which the Government of the Canary Islands has 54,5%, 450.000 euros are allocated as an injection of money for its maintenance. There are 50.000 euros for the Maspalomas Health Center. For the rehabilitation of the Playa del Pirata staircase, in Playa del Águila, 650.000 euros. For the Pedrazo special education center, it goes from 200.000 euros to 425.000 euros. Improvements on the GC-1 as it passes through the south of Gran Canaria, 1,6 million euros. Investments in Hecansa will benefit from agreements to promote knowledge of digital media among students.
The south of Gran Canaria will access regional financing for the tourist information system, 395.928 euros; for tourism business observatory, 300.000 euros; dissemination of internal knowledge, 250.000 euros; for diversification 400.000 euros; studies and technical work 140.000 euros; for sustainability management 150.000 euros; for the recovery of tourist areas 400.000 euros in studies.
Three out of every four euros of the Budgets will be allocated to essential public services, which translates into a global amount of 6.832,3 million euros. This amount represents 7,49% more than that recorded this year. That is, the relative increase in social policies is greater than the growth of the Budgets themselves. Public investments (real investments and capital transfers) register a significant boost and stand at 1.382 million euros, 199,3 million more than this year, which represents an increase of 16,8%. Likewise, the growth in support items for economic sectors is worth mentioning, reaching 383,1 million euros, 85 million more than in 2021, a 28,5% increase.
