The association promotes its health and well-being catalog with a press trip dedicated to rest in which the Gran Canaria Natural & Active brand has been able to collaborate.

It is expected that this action will achieve an approximate audience of more than 50 million people between print and digital media.

The asociación Gran Canaria Spa, Wellness & Health, the official Tourism brand of Gran Canaria, organized a press trip from April 12 to 18 with eight prestigious national media outlets with the intention of bringing them closer to the health and well-being benefits of the island under the motto 'True luxury is being in Gran Canaria'. Likewise, this press trip had the participation of the association Gran Canaria Natural & Active to let guests know about the possibilities of disconnection in nature. Specifically, the media that participated were El Confidencial Digital, El Debate, Emprendedores, Gentleman, Girona Noticies, La Razón, Lucía Se Casa and Shangay, with a total estimated reach of more than 50 million readers.

The renowned hotel Seaside Palm Beach It was the place chosen to welcome the journalists and accommodate them during their stay. This Design Hotel, with a retro design from the 70s, is located in a palm grove next to the Maspalomas Dunes Natural Reserve and stands out for its great service and exquisite haute cuisine. Here they enjoyed the proximity to the beach and its refreshing pools, as well as tasting the dishes from its restaurant 'Esencia', 'La Bodega' and barbecue-style dinner. In the Spa & Wellness of the same accommodation, guests experienced first-hand the benefits of body care with a wellness treatment.

During their stay, media representatives were able to discover other hotels on the island acclaimed for their wellness facilities and be carried away by the tranquility they convey. Among them, it is worth highlighting the unique environment of Salobre Hotel Resort & Serenity, where they had the opportunity to enjoy a restorative yoga and meditation session with views of the mountains. In addition, they took the opportunity to enter the spa circuit of their Be Aloe Wellness, which has a vitality pool with bubble beds and therapeutic jets.

Once a mentality of serenity was achieved, the journalists moved to have lunch in Perchel Beach Club. Located in El Pajar, it is the largest family beach club in the Canary Islands, with a beautiful infinity pool perfect for relaxing in the sun. In this context they also took a guided tour of the elegant Seaside Grand Hotel Residence and delight in a delicious gourmet dinner.

On this tour I couldn't miss Gloria Palace San Agustin Thalasso & Hotel, recognized for its thalassotherapy center and strong connection with health. On this occasion, the guests went up to the ninth floor of the hotel to have a welcome cocktail at sunset on the Gorbea Chill Out Terrace and dinner at the Gorbea restaurant itself.

Nature as a way of disconnection

When it came to highlighting the beautiful natural corners of Gran Canaria, the journalists explored the most authentic spaces in the interior of the island. Starting with a visit to Banana Museum in Arucas, where it is possible to soak up the history of the banana, learn about up to 25 different varieties and walk through the more than 7.000 banana trees on their farm.

Added to this tour was a yoga session in the charming Hotel Rural Las Calas taught by the actress, presenter and instructor Cayetana Rodenas. This enclave was the ideal place to meditate and connect with oneself, with the birds singing and the wind in the leaves as a natural soundtrack. Likewise, its location in the Vega de San Mateo is a strong point for any hiking lover.

Another of the municipalities that they had the luxury of knowing in person was Agaete. In their valley, they found a haven of peace surrounded by the relief of the mountains in the Rural Hotel Las Longueras, a 19th century house accompanied by a large farm. In this dream postcard, the journalists participated in a workshop to learn how to make mojo picón and try their creation with wrinkled potatoes and Canarian cheese.

Just a few minutes by car, guests traveled to La Laja Estate & Los Berrazales Winery to learn the history and traditions of its wines, tropical fruits and renowned coffee, from plant to cup. Once transported to the most rural Gran Canaria, all that was left was to taste the local products at Casa Romántica, a restaurant recognized in the Michelin Guide that exudes Gran Canaria identity.

Finally, a stop in the old town of Vegueta was essential to stroll through its streets and monuments, as well as enjoy a relaxed sit-down meal on the terrace of the Boutique Hotel Cordial Plaza Mayor de Santa Ana with views of the Cathedral of Santa Ana.

After having found peace in the wellness centers and more rural spaces on the island, representatives of the national media said goodbye with a transformed vision of the island; a destination capable of revitalizing and dazzling everyone who enters it with its natural beauty.
