Maspalomas24h Monday, April 22, 2024

The Minister of Tourism of Gran Canaria, Carlos Álamo, received this Monday a group of Italian journalists, from media outlets located in the region of Tuscany, who are on the island these days learning about its tourist offer, with special attention to cultural, natural and gastronomic products. This meeting, which has the participation of Binter, is part of the actions contemplated in the twinning that Gran Canaria made with Promozione Turistica Toscana in February 2023.

The counselor received a group made up of three journalists: Osta Davide, from QN Nazione; Valenti Giacomina, from Gruppo Radio 24; and Arquint Irene, from Il Tirreno. Also present were Silvia Donatiello, Gran Canaria Tourism promoter, and Borja de Bethencourt, from the Binter Communication team. Álamo thanked the visit and highlighted the growing interest of the Italian market, and recognized the importance of the routes opened by Binter, “which makes traveling to Gran Canaria from such important cities as Florence and Venice more comfortable and accessible.”

Binter opted to open a route with the capital of Tuscany (Florence) in July 2022 as part of its international expansion commitment and which, both nationally and internationally, represents the most extensive offer in its history and almost triples the capacity. operated the summer before the pandemic. Binter also flies, from Gran Canaria, to Venice.

The purpose of the visit by the group of Italian journalists is for them to learn about our territory and aspects related to the cultural and archaeological heritage, such as UNESCO's recognition of its Natural Heritage and Biosphere, as well as the island's offering linked to Active and Sustainable Tourism and the Enogastronomic product. “Since we signed the twinning agreement with this region we have shared strategies and knowledge, to publicize our many attractions and virtues and thereby consolidate the good momentum of our destination in Italy and, with this, attract a client that is interesting for its level of spending, their interest in cultural, natural and gastronomic products,” the counselor concluded.
