The Department of Human Resources led by the second deputy mayor, Elena Álamo Vega, reaches a historic agreement with the unions at the general negotiation table to resolve a difference that has been entrenched for many years due to the time specificities of the two Security forces and Municipal emergencies
The City Council of San Bartolomé de Tirajana will modify the articles of the collective agreement of the workforce and the agreement on the working conditions of civil servants to update the monthly amounts for all public employees who work at night or who work on Saturdays. and Sundays. With this measure, the City Council resolves an equality between the Security and Emergency forces of the municipality that has persisted for many years. The matter will be submitted for approval by the Corporation's Plenary Session at its session this Thursday.
The decision has been adopted by the Department of Human Resources directed by the second deputy mayor, Elena Álamo Vega, in agreement with the unions in the General Negotiation Table, in order to address the specific variables and specificities that occur in the different working days. of the agents of the Local Police Corps and operators of its Communications Center (Cecom), and of the Fire Fighting and Rescue Service Corps (SEIS) of the municipality, especially in night services and especially during weekends .
“The objective that the Department of Human Resources has set is to definitively solve a problematic and complex legal situation that the City Council has been dealing with for many years, and to respond to a demand for equalization and remuneration of the members of the bodies of security and emergency of the municipality that until now had not been properly attended to due to the calculation of its different schedules. This agreement is a historic advance for the municipal administration. It reflects the good work of the unions and the Department of Human Resources, and the favorable climate of dialogue, understanding and consensual work that is being carried out,” says Elena Álamo Vega.
With the modification of article 9 of the labor agreement and the civil servants' agreement, productivity for night shifts is established at 4 euros gross for each hour worked from Sunday to Thursday, from 21:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., and at 4,50 euros on Saturdays and Sundays, from 21:00 p.m. on Friday until 7:00 a.m. the next day. The amounts payable for working on Saturday and Sunday will be identical on both days, and will be equal on equal terms for police officers and firefighters based on the different categories or ranks of both bodies.
According to the agreement reached by the Department of Human Resources and the union representations at the negotiation table, the amounts of night hours and work on Saturdays and Sundays will increase annually with the percentage established for remuneration in the Budget Law General of the State for each year.
