More than 1.200 Maspalomas schoolchildren enjoy sports at Campo David García

 

The David García Santana football field at the Maspalomas Sports City has been converted this Friday, April 26, into a huge playground and non-competitive recreational-sports coexistence for more than 400 3rd and 4th grade primary schoolchildren from the four public schools of San Fernando de Maspalomas.

 

The meeting, promoted and agreed upon on three different days for the active participation of all the students of the CEIPs Oasis, San Fernando, Alcalde Marcial Franco and Las Dunas, began this Wednesday the 24th with 400 students from 5th and 6th Primary and will continue next Friday, May 3 with the remaining 400 1st and 2nd year students. In the end, more than 1.200 students from the municipality will have participated in these gatherings dedicated to the practice of traditional and new sports games.

 

 

 

The initiative has had the logistical support of the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council through the Departments of Sports and Education, directed respectively by councilors Ramón Suárez Ojeda and Elena Álamo Vega, who have provided the educational centers with the technical resources, materials and humans for the development of the event. “Both councils have already been working since this legislature began on the recovery of the beloved School Sports Championships of the municipality, which stopped being held more than two decades ago. The project necessary for its reactivation, which is being coordinated especially by the technicians of the Department of Sports, is already quite advanced with the objective of putting its execution and development out to public tender," Mayor Marco Aurelio Pérez stated today during his visit. to the playing field and school coexistence, where he appreciated the students' enjoyment and shared impressions with the teachers.
