The bathrooms in the South Park of San Fernando remain closed due to countless damage and breaks inside.
After the latest acts of vandalism that some facilities in the South Park in San Fernando have suffered, the Councilor for Parks and Gardens, Nélida del Carmen García reiterates “the importance of taking care of the public spaces and green areas designed for all our neighbors and visitors to enjoy.” from them. The most affected are the residents of the municipality who cannot use the bathrooms in the facilities. Furthermore, the cost of replacing the damage comes out of the pockets of all taxpayers.”
During these last weeks, San Bartolomé de Tirajana has witnessed repeated acts of vandalism that have directly affected the fencing, landscaping and bathrooms in the South Park of San Fernando. "The park is the most visited in the municipality. Hundreds of residents play sports and walk with children who, due to these defects, cannot use the services. The South Park will also be a fairground for some of the events scheduled for the campaign. Christmas and, we will beautify our streets with the countless decorations that we are installing such as the festive lights and typical Christmas plants. And we ask that these acts of vandalism stop," says García.
The Department of Parks and Gardens is replacing the sinks, the completely destroyed toilets and the broken window panes due to the acts of vandalism last week. At the same time, they are replacing the broken steel bars of the fence at the back of the South Park stage. Councilor Sánchez affirms that "they will file a complaint against the causes of these damages, which will lead to paying the cost and the corresponding fine because they have been uncivil acts against the neighbors themselves."
