Representatives of the Chamber and the Ministry of Tourism and Employment of the Government of the Canary Islands have carried out a visit to the Les Roches School of Hotel and Tourism Management

The purpose of the visit was to identify opportunities for collaboration, which benefit both young professionals and the tourism sector as a whole.

 

Representatives of the Chamber of Commerce of Gran Canaria and the Ministry of Tourism and Employment of the Government of the Canary Islands have carried out a visit to the Les Roches Hotel and Tourism Management School, in Malaga, which has allowed them to learn more about the model. academic aimed at training highly specialized professionals in the hotel and tourism sector, with the aim of identifying possible opportunities for collaboration, which benefit both young professionals and the tourism sector as a whole.

 

The delegation was made up of the president of the Chamber, Luis Padrón; the president of the Tourism Commission and president of Excelcan, the Association for Research, Study and Excellence in the tourism sector in the Canary Islands, Santiago de Armas; and the director of the Tourism Department, Carmen García Manzano. On behalf of the Canary Islands Executive, the Deputy Minister of Tourism, José Manuel Sanabria; and the CEO of Hoteles Escuela de Canarias (HECANSA), Paola Plasencia.

 

The delegation, which held a meeting with the CEO of Les Roches, Carlos Díez de la Lastra, and his management team, had the opportunity to closely explore the Les Roches model, recognized internationally for its innovative approach in the training of future leaders of the sector.

 

The Deputy Minister of Tourism of the Government of the Canary Islands, aware of the importance of providing future workers in the sector with innovative and high-value tools in the hotel management of the future, indicated that it is necessary to prepare our future professionals to face the challenges of current tourism, focused on quality and excellence in service.

 

In this sense, José Manuel Sanabria highlighted that, considering the professionalized and recognized facilities of Hoteles Escuela de Canarias, there is the opportunity to enrich its training offer through various collaborations with Les Roches, in order to offer an updated training program, which serves of attraction for Canarians as a professional option in the main industry of the Canary Islands.

 

In this context, Luis Padrón highlighted the commitment of the Gran Canaria Chamber of Commerce to continue promoting collaborations like this, and generate that space for discussing projects that help generate future synergies. Likewise, he stressed the importance of collaboration between the public and private sectors, to promote projects that strengthen the competitiveness of the tourism sector, both nationally and internationally.

 

For his part, the president of Excelcan, Santiago de Armas, aware of the importance and need for this type of initiatives, showed his support for these agreements, expressing the urgency of continuing to provide the sector with training and innovative tools in the field of hotel direction and management, guaranteeing that we can continue to have specialized professionals adapted to the future of tourism.

 

During the visit, the representatives of the Chamber and the Government of the Canary Islands had the opportunity to interact with Canarian students who are carrying out their studies at this center. The experience offered a detailed insight into the practical, industry-oriented approach that defines Les Roches, as well as its commitment to academic excellence and innovation in training future leaders in hospitality and tourism.
