The young Tirajanero Noah Díaz, Spanish U-12 paddle surf champion

 

The young eleven-year-old Tirajanero Noah Díaz Martínez has been proclaimed Spanish champion of U-12 paddle surfing in the double modality of beach race and sprint at the Mera Sup Festival, a competitive contest held this weekend on the beaches of Sabón and Mera, in the Galician province of A Coruña.

 

 

 

In less than a month, Noah Díaz has achieved three national championships, since the medals in the circuit and speed modalities of Mera are also joined by the Spanish Under-12 long-distance SUP Race championship, achieved at the end of last April on La Hípica Beach, in the city of Melilla. The best riders in the country in this modality were gathered there, competing in the first race of 2024 of the Spanish Surfing Federation. Noah won gold after covering the two-kilometer distance with the best time.

 

The athlete, born in this municipality on July 1, 2012 and belonging to the Secondreef team, began practicing paddle surfing when he was just 3 years old, learning with the expertise that his parents showed on the boards.

 

The Councilor for Sports, Ramón Suárez, has conveyed to the surfer the congratulations and gratitude of Mayor Marco Aurelio Pérez and the Corporation of San Bartolomé de Tirajana for these championships achieved at such a young age. “They are merits of the effort, dedication, discipline and seriousness with which he is facing his sports career.”
