From Marcial Franco to Narváez: this is how Tirajana rules in the PSOE of the Canary Islands

The PSOE of the Canary Islands is holding the regional congress this weekend with the clear objective of putting electoral support and the courage on the table to overcome dependencies in the 2023 municipal elections. With more than 40 years of democracy, the PSOE has only had two mayors: Marcial Franco and Concepción Narváez. But that does not mean that it has no weight in the party founded by Pablo Iglesias. Proper names such as Carlos Álamo, José Antonio Godoy, Pilar Grande will be in the kitchen of the party that faces 2023 along with new Tirajanero values ​​such as Rafael Henríquez Quintana, who was precisely taught by Marcial Franco at El Tablero.

Rafael Henríquez was taught by Marcial Franco who completely distanced himself from the public scene due to the betrayals not of his party but of fellow travelers in the municipal pacts. From a primary school teacher to a lawyer, he began in 2003 to manage Culture, Youth and Equality among other areas in the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council. Two years later she was the first female mayor of the municipality, a position she held until 2007. In 2008 and until the end of the legislature in 2011 she was in charge of Tourism and Urban Planning.

In 2011 "Narváez" went to work with Angel Victor Torres, as general director of Infrastructure of the Island Council of Gran Canaria. She is deputy general secretary in Gran Canaria of the PSC -PSOE. Narváez coincided with her political boss from 2012, José Antonio Godoy who He was general secretary of the local PSOE Executive as well as executive of the Gran Canaria Tourist Board, of which Carlos Álamo is now a counselor.
