The Departments of Education and Sports of the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council have organized this Friday the celebration of the II School Mini-Olympics of Recreational Games for children from 3 to 5 years of age in all public educational centers in this municipality.
The day took place with recreational overtones between 10:00 and 12:00 on the 'David García Santana' playing field of the Maspalomas Sports City, and a total of 425 students from the 13 Infant schools participated. and Primary Education (CEIPs) and Compulsory Education (CEOs) that make up the school map of the municipality.
Mayor Marco Aurelio Pérez Sánchez, and the councilors responsible for Sports, Ramón Suárez Ojeda, and Education and Culture, both its head Elena Álamo Vega, and the delegate councilor Esther Delgado Sánchez, attended the children's event to support its celebration, learn about the dynamics and details of the activities, and come into direct contact with the students and their teachers.
The activity organized for the schoolchildren was carried out with the collaboration of the Provital SL entity and the students of the Higher Cycle of Sports Physical Conditioning of the IES El Tablero I-Agüañac and the Intermediate Cycle of Sports Technician in Football of the IES Támara .
To carry out the mini-Olympics, the Sports staff converted the Campo David García venue into a huge recreational circuit structured into six base stations with different traditional and modern games within each of them, such as relay races or handkerchief, and with many other different activities in which hoops, balls of different sizes, ropes, cones and other elements were required for their execution and enjoyment.
The mayor recalled that both these school mini-Olympics for children under 5 years old, as well as those held previously, at the end of April, with students from 1st to 6th grade of Primary from the four schools in San Fernando de Maspalomas, “are part of an ambitious plan from the Departments of Sports and Education to recover the celebration of the Municipal School Games in this municipality. We believe that it is a project that is worth rescuing for its socializing and integrating purpose, because it allows the spontaneous, creative and friendly interaction of boys and girls from different parts of the municipality, and that is why it has already been entrusted to the technicians of both departments that do everything possible to put their organization and development out to public tender as soon as possible.”
At the end of the day, each of the schoolchildren received a diploma commemorating their participation in this II Mini-Olympics.
