El Tablero recovers the traditional floral offering with the participation of 13 neighborhood groups from other towns in the municipality
Today El Tablero celebrated its offering-pilgrimage in honor of the Holy Trinity. The festival was attended by more than 6.000 people who, dressed in traditional clothing, participated in the tour and placed their offering before the image of the Holy Trinity, patron saint of the southern people. The groups of pilgrims, associations and groups participated, deposited the products and donations, and crossed the El Portón de El Tablero created for the occasion.
17 carts and 13 neighborhood and cultural associations participated in the pilgrimage-offering. As a novelty this year and on the occasion of the celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the El Tablero Pilgrimage, which this year was organized around the recovery of the traditions and social events of yesteryear, the Department of Celebrations and Events of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, invited neighborhood and cultural associations from other neighborhoods and towns in the municipality to participate in the floral offering to the Holy Trinity. As highlighted by the councilor, Yilenia Vega, the objective has been to “foster neighborhood unity, offer them a moment to fraternize and promote the feeling of brotherhood and belonging to the local society around the municipality of Villa de San Bartolomé de Tirajana. It is a good way to enhance and recover the family and friendship ties that once fostered the development and growth of our municipality,” highlighted the mayor.
Thus, the Holy Trinity had the floral offering delivered by the Santiago El Chico de Tunte Cultural Association, the Arteara de Fataga Neighborhood Association, the Ayacata Festival Commission, the Friends of San Fernando de Maspalomas Festival Commission, the Famara Aldea Blanca Neighborhood Association , Amurga Neighborhood Association of Juan Grande. Coming from Castillo del Romeral, a representation of the three associations that coexist there participated jointly: Castillo del Romeral Maritime Park Environmental Association, Castillo del Romeral Productive Forest Neighborhood Association and the Castillo del Romeral Canary Islands Society of Natural Agriculture Association. Also present were the El Pajar Neighborhood Association, Santa Agueda, the Cercados de Espino Neighborhood Association, the Las Filipinas Neighborhood Association, the Ayagaures Neighborhood Association, the Montaña La Data Neighborhood Association, and finally, the hostesses, the Coordinator of Social and Cultural Collectives El Tablero Cultural Association Casa del Mato El Tablero.
This year the pilgrimage included the participation of the Farabella Home Center, which within the project Let's go from pilgrimage! proposed the participation of 18 immigrant minors from the center who walked the streets of El Tablero during the pilgrimage dressed in traditional clothing donated by the town's residents. Vega highlighted that the participation of these minors has meant for them “an opportunity to get closer to Canarian culture as well as an action of community participation and social integration in our municipality. “It has been very enriching for them and for the population to develop, in a festive environment, coexistence in which they have experienced values such as integration, respect and coexistence.”
The pilgrimage was led by the collective 'La Cuadrilla', which delighted the residents located on the sides of the streets throughout the entire route with a display of the Baile del Palo to the rhythm of the Agrupación Viejas Caracolas, formed by the San José Music School. Bartolome de Tirajana. They were followed by the dances of the Los Herreños Folkloric Group, which participated in the tour to celebrate the anniversary. The Pilgrimage of Honor, Mercedes Romano, proud bearer of the Vara de la Pilgrimage 2024, was not missing from the event.
The offering-pilgrimage concluded with the Festival of the Romeros and Romeras, where the parties 'El Botellín' and 'Beletén' performed. Subsequently, a fireworks show was held after which the festival began by Star Music and Grupo Arena.
