Workers have been demanding this right for many years because they are ordered to perform higher-level functions without this being recognized, and to make matters worse, they are not paid for this work either.
It is such that the town councils of Ingenio and San Bartolomé de Tirajana have agreed that their administrative assistants can promote, but the Santa Luceño government group only makes excuses without coherent arguments or alternatives to the unions so that this right is recognized for administrative assistants. .
In the assembly called by the unions UGT, SEPCA and the CSIF, the representatives explained the current situation in the defense of this right and the repeated blockade that the HR Councilor is carrying out, with the support of the NC and PSOE councilors in the town hall of Santa Lucía de Tirajana. The workers agreed to hold a protest breakfast to demand that the Mayor, Francisco García, take on this problem that has been entrenched in the Santa Lucía City Council for many years and, once and for all, give it an immediate solution.
For this reason, starting tomorrow, Thursday, the assistants will use their rest time to hold a protest breakfast and demand that the mayor show his face and not hide behind his councilor and dubious technical reports.
The workers agreed in the assembly to use their rest time to protest and thereby not harm the attention of citizens, because they are aware that they are not to blame for the terrible municipal management in relation to labor rights.
However, the unions explain that if the mayor does not listen to the administrative assistants who filled the municipal assembly hall this Wednesday, and adopts clear and immediate solutions in these coming weeks, they will consider carrying out other strikes that would undoubtedly harm attention to the citizen.
UGT, SEPCA and CSIF recall that the deficit in municipal personnel due to the flight of workers to other public administrations due to the tension that has been generated for months in the City Council, could be increased if administrative assistants carry out longer strikes, since currently these They manage many citizen files due to the lack of technicians.
