The Portuguese city of Viana Do Castelo, with an extensive maritime tradition, will be the guest city in 2024
The International Sea Fair will take place on June 7, 8 and 9 in the Port of Las Palmas, at the Sanapú Pier
The event once again offers an extensive program of citizen leisure, with boat tours, visits to boats, talks, professional meetings, children's activities and restaurant areas
The International Sea Fair is already outlining its exhibition offer for its 13th edition, which will take place on June 7, 8 and 9 at the Sanapú Pier, between the Poema del Mar aquarium and the Onda Atlántica Catwalk. FIMAR 2024 already has more than 40 registered exhibitors and sixty stands planned for this new location, in what will once again be the great event for the blue economy in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and the island of Gran Canaria.
The International Sea Fair is promoted by the Cabildo of Gran Canaria, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria City Council and the Port Authority of Las Palmas, in a fair organized by the city's Ciudad de Mar department and Infecar, Feria de Gran Canaria .
Institutions and public and academic entities, sports clubs, citizen organizations and companies in the maritime sector make up the group of exhibitors that have already confirmed their presence in Sanapú to the organization, in a broad representation of the blue economy in Gran Canaria.
A sector that experiences its great meeting at this annual event, to present the evolution of its activities related to the ocean environment, provide support to the initiatives that are developed in this context, disseminate the progress and research that is currently being carried out. and present the business models and products marketed by the companies present.

Guest city
In recent editions, the presence of a guest city has become a characteristic feature of FIMAR, in line with expanding the horizons of the blue economy in Gran Canaria and strengthening ties with other towns with a strong connection to the ocean. On this occasion, Viana do Castelo will be the foreign city with a presence at the fair.
This coastal town in the North of Portugal is a reference on the so-called Green Coast, whose history is linked to fishing (particularly cod) and the great Portuguese maritime discoveries. With a present in which surfing is not lacking and in which its port continues to play a prominent role in the region, Viana do Castelo becomes a more than appropriate guest in 2024 for this new edition of FIMAR.
Citizen leisure offer
In parallel to its institutional and commercial offer, FIMAR will once again present next June a wide range of options for citizen leisure throughout the fair. From a restoration area to the usual visits to the Navy's Maritime Action Vessels or Maritime Rescue vessels.
Likewise, the organization will offer boat rides within the Port's water surface, so that attendees can discover the port area from the sea. Like access to the fair, these excursions will be free. Of course, without the need for prior registration: the public will enjoy them in strict order of arrival.
FIMAR will also set up a special area for the younger audience. That is, an area reserved for children's games and activities, in line with an event that in previous editions has established itself as an interesting alternative for family leisure.
In the near future, the organization will announce the program of informative talks open to the public: free access sessions, related to research and scientific activity at sea, the blue economy or different aquatic activities and sports.
