The Government of the Canary Islands is considering introducing "additional measures" of covid control for foreign tourists traveling to the archipelago if an increase in imported cases is detected, something about which, at the moment, "there is no conclusive evidence." The vice-counselor of the Presidency, Antonio Olivera, has indicated that he is concerned about the possibility that the epidemiological "bad behavior" in the issuing countries, mainly the United Kingdom and Germany, will end up having repercussions on the archipelago.
For this reason, the Canary Islands executive will be "very attentive" to the evolution of infections and a possible increase in imported cases to see if control measures beyond the existing ones are necessary.
