The Housing Department of the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council proposes to the plenary session the approval of a budget modification that would allow the improvement of the residential environment of the La Paz Urbanization to be implemented, through the Programmed Rehabilitation Residential Environments Program (ERRP). The Councilor for Housing, Lucía Jiménez (CC), points out that they have been working for months with the Government of the Canary Islands and the Cabildo Housing Consortium to reach a pre-agreement and agree on the investment of 4.729.171 euros destined to rehabilitate said urbanization.
Of the more than 4,7 million, the Government of the Canary Islands, through the Next Generation Funds, will be responsible for 70% of the total, contributing 3.330.000 euros; For its part, the Housing Consortium will contribute 14,7%, a total of €698.085; while the City Council will be responsible for the remaining 698.085 euros. Of the amount assumed by the local Administration, residents must pay the City Council 35.000 euros, that is, 0,74%, once the work is completed.
Thus, after the pre-cofinancing agreement, the Department of Housing proposes a budget modification of 162.000 euros for 2024; and the commitment to pay 268.042 euros in 2025, and the same amount in 2026. Marichal highlights that the rehabilitation program is one of the four pillars of action of the SBT Housing Plan 2023-2024, along with the public promotion of housing, for which the City Council already agreed in December 2023 to transfer 35 million euros to Visocan intended for that purpose; rental aid, whose document is pending final approval; as well as the release of land for the promotion of public housing and also free rent. According to the first deputy mayor, the money allocated to the Housing Plan "could be around 50 million euros in total between the Consistory's own contributions and those formalized by other public administrations."
