On May 14, the Civil Guard in Gran Canaria arrested a 36-year-old person with numerous police records for the commission of fourteen (14) Thefts from the Interior of Vehicles in addition to stealing the engine battery to sell it in different recovery companies in the municipality.
The Civil Guard became aware of the complaint from the first victim in which he reported the theft of the battery and various effects that were inside it. Although the investigation lasted a year, given that the author carried out the thefts sporadically without following any specific pattern.
The detainee broke the windows of the vehicles, stealing from the interior and opening the hood, to steal the batteries and then sell them or abandon them, at the same time creating an environmental problem by not treating the battery components.
The Civil Guard began an investigation based on the analysis of visual inspections of the vehicles in conjunction with citizen collaboration that resulted in the identification of the alleged perpetrator, often recovering certain objects and vehicle batteries.
Once identified, his arrest was carried out and the corresponding proceedings were carried out, which were brought to the judicial disposal of the corresponding guard court of San Bartolomé de Tirajana.
