The Gran Canaria Walking Festival 2024 arrives, the international hiking festival of Gran Canaria

 

The Gran Canaria Walking Festival , the international gathering of hikers in Gran Canaria, celebrates its 13th edition from October 24th to 27th, 2024. Organized by Gran Canaria Natural & Active and supported by the official sponsorship of the Gran Canaria Island Council through Gran Canaria Tourism, the event has established itself year after year as one of the best opportunities to discover the lesser-known side of Gran Canaria.

 

In its desire to offer a different and renewed experience, this year's festival presents four new routes designed with the aim of immersing participants, once again, in the exuberant nature, as well as the rich heritage and cultural heritage of the island. These four routes will delve into municipalities such as Tejeda, Moya, Valsequillo and La Aldea de San Nicolás, places where you can witness the diversity of landscapes and contrasts that Gran Canaria offers to everyone who ventures into its numerous trails. In addition, hikers will be able to visit several of its accommodations full of history and linked to Gran Canaria Natural & Active, where the route ends will take place. 

 

 

It is a festival that attracts people of all ages, nationalities and levels of experience to share together their passion for hiking and their desire to explore an island full of hidden treasures.

 

For this edition, participants in the Gran Canaria Walking Festival will enjoy an eco-friendly picnic and a snack lunch featuring local products at the end of each route in iconic locations. Furthermore, all routes include transportation from two points on the island, insurance, multilingual hiking guides, and gifts, all designed to help hikers discover the natural and cultural treasures of Gran Canaria.

 

 

Registration for this thirteenth edition of the festival will take place on the website: www.grancanariawalkingfestival.com and will soon be available with limited spaces. Participants can register for individual routes or choose the 4-route package.
