This afternoon, around 16:30 p.m., the Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Government of the Canary Islands received an alert informing them that a lifeguard along with other people had taken the sea to a bather who was unconscious, in an area of rocks on Mogán beach.
The lifeguard, with the collaboration of other people who were at the scene, provided the first assistance to the affected person, verifying that he was in cardiorespiratory arrest, and began to practice resuscitation maneuvers, also applying a defibrillator.
The SUC personnel continued practicing basic and advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers without obtaining results, confirming his death.
The Firefighters and Civil Protection Consortium collaborated in assisting the affected person along with the rest of Mogán's emergency resources. The Local Police officers secured the area for the intervention of the device deployed at the site and the Civil Guard Agents guarded the body of the deceased man until the arrival of the judicial authority and carried out the corresponding procedures.
